Nowadays, there are a multitude of screens available with almost as many functions. What technical criteria to choose for your computer screen?

Below, we will separate our approach by type of use, which will allow you to choose your screen more easily.

- Size or diagonal: The size of the screen or the diagonal represents the actual size of the screen panel. It is most often expressed in inches.
- Resolution: The resolution represents the number of pixels that your screen displays. The higher the resolution, the better the image quality.

- Refresh rate: represents the number of images displayed per second. The higher the refresh rate, the better the visual comfort will be improved and the animations will appear increasingly fluid.
- Panel: The panel is the heart of the monitor, it is responsible for displaying images. What is important in the panel is especially the technology used to create it TN or IPS. Each of these technologies has different properties. TN will, for example, have a faster response time while the IPS technology will offer a better viewing angle.

Choosing the PC screen for office work

A minimum 22-inch screen with Full HD resolution is recommended for office use, such as answering emails. You don’t need a high resolution or a high refresh rate. A 16:9 screen, a dual-screen setup, or a widescreen will provide more space to clearly display elements.

Choosing a PC screen for gaming

For gamers or streamers, a minimum 24-inch screen with a high resolution (at least 4K) and a refresh rate of 144 Hz is advised for optimal quality and gaming comfort. Streamers can also benefit from a second rotating screen to view messages received on platforms like Twitch.

Choosing the computer screen for multimedia

For video editing, photo retouching, or similar tasks, a minimum 24-inch screen with 4K resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate is recommended. Two screens or a widescreen are often preferable for enough display space.

Choosing the PC screen for movie lovers

Are you a movie enthusiast? In this case, screen size, resolution, and refresh rate are important for a vibrant and captivating image. A 4K monitor with a refresh rate of at least 60 Hz will suffice. However, prioritize IPS technology, which offers much more accurate and rich color rendering.
