What is thermal paste?

Thermal paste is a grey, pasty substance used to facilitate thermal conductivity between two surfaces, such as a processor and a heatsink. Its primary role is to improve the transfer of heat from the heat source (such as a CPU) to the heatsink, thus allowing for more efficient heat dissipation.

Most processors and heatsinks come with a thin layer of pre-applied thermal paste, but some users prefer to apply their own thermal paste to enhance thermal performance. It's essential to choose a quality thermal paste to ensure optimal thermal conductivity and maintain CPU temperatures at safe levels.
