The battery life of your laptop is crucial to its proper functioning and usefulness. No one wants a computer to run out of battery in 10 minutes, as its mobility would be greatly diminished. Windows has a dedicated tool to analyze the status of your battery to assess its health.
There's no need to install specific software for this; simply go to the command prompt (Search > "cmd") as an administrator. Once this black screen is open, type: powercfg /batteryreport /output C:\battery_diagnostic.html and press Enter.
The battery report will generate automatically and save to your computer under "C:\battery_diagnostic.html". Open your File Explorer and then your C:\ drive; the file should be located here.
It's written in English, but the terms used are relatively close to French and shouldn't pose a comprehension issue.
The interesting tables are "Battery Capacity History" and "Battery Life Estimate", which respectively give you the estimated amperage of your battery since its launch and the autonomy from its first day until today.
After a few years, it's not uncommon for the capacity to have decreased by 30 or even 50%.
