My PC shuts down on its own, what should I do?

There are several types of PC shutdowns:

  1. When using resource-intensive software (games, video editing).
  2. During ordinary use.

Make sure to distinguish between a complete shutdown and a restart. Here are the main causes and solutions:

Overheating Protection

When you use resource-intensive software, the PC components heat up. The PC's internal protection may then cause a shutdown to protect its components and the user.

  • Signs of overheating: Slowdowns and fan noise.
  • Solution: download Speccy to monitor the temperature. If it exceeds 60°, it’s abnormal, and at 90°, the PC shuts down to protect itself. Clean the inside of the PC and add fans if necessary.

Incorrect Sleep Settings

If your laptop goes to sleep on its own, this may be due to incorrect settings.

  • Solution:
    1. Go to Power & Sleep Settings.
    2. Check the sleep and shutdown options.
    3. Click on Additional power settings and adjust the options.

Faulty Drivers

A faulty driver can cause malfunctions and abrupt shutdowns of your PC.

Windows-related Issues

A bug in Windows codes and registries can be responsible.

  • Solution: Repair the system through Windows settings without deleting your personnel files.

Special Cases

1. Internet Threat:

  • Use antivirus scanning tools to check if the problem is caused by an internet threat. A Windows reinstallation can resolve this issue, but make sure your personnel files are not infected.

2. Faulty Battery:
