Follow these general steps. Note that menus and options may vary slightly depending on the hardware manufacturer and the operating system you are using.
1. Using Command Prompt (Windows):
- Press the `Win + R` key to open the Run dialog box.
- Type `cmd` and press Enter to open the command prompt.
- In the command prompt, type the following command and press Enter: `wmic baseboard get product,manufacturer,version,serialnumber`
2. Using the System Utility (Windows):
- Press the `Win + Pause/Break` key to open the System Properties window.
- Look for motherboard information under the "System Type" or "Baseboard Manufacturer" section.
3. Using System Information (msinfo32) (Windows):
- Press the `Win + R` key to open the Run dialog box.
- Type `msinfo32` and press Enter. This will open the System Information utility.
- In the tree on the left, navigate to "Components" -> "Motherboard". You will find the motherboard information on the right.
4. Using Terminal Command (Mac):
- Open the Terminal application.
- Type the following command and press Enter: `system_profiler SPHardwareDataType`
5. Using Command Line Utility (Linux):
- Open the terminal.
- Type the following command and press Enter: `sudo dmidecode -t baseboard`
6. On the Motherboard:
- In some cases, the motherboard model may be printed directly on the board. You may need to open the computer case to view this information.
Once you have found your motherboard model, you can search for it online to get more detailed information, download the appropriate drivers, or get help with specific issues related to that board.
