Before you begin
Read the safety precautions and pre-repair checklist.
Remove the following components:
• Bottom
• Battery
Screw list
O + M1.6 X 3.0L (8 pieces)
O + M1.4 X 3.0L (4 pieces)
Dismantling
- Remove the adhesive and disconnect the cable(s).
- Remove the screw(s).
- Remove the right analog stick board and ensure the board moves along the FFC cable within the opening in the middle of the board without hooking onto the cable.
- Remove the left analog stick board.
5. Flip over the board(s) and pull out the stick cap(s).
6. Remove the haptic motor(s).
7. Remove the screw(s).
8. Disconnect the cable(s) and remove the analog stick switches.
Installation
1. Align and attach the adhesive sponge as shown in the illustration below.
NOTE: This step is only required when you are replacing the existing component with a new one.
2. Place the haptic motor(s) back to the chassis and route the cable(s) through the cable guide(s) in the orientation shown in the illustration below.
IMPORTANT! Damage may occur if cables are not properly routed through the cable guides. Confirm that all cables are routed through each of the indicated cable guides before proceeding.
3. Remove the release liner(s) from the haptic motor(s).
4. Align and install the analog stick switches to the I/O board using the screw(s) you removed earlier.
5. Reconnect the cable(s).
6. Align and install the analog stick cap(s).
7. Flip over the left analog stick board, then align and install the board in the orientation shown in the illustration below.
8. Secure the left analog stick board using the screw(s) you removed earlier.
9. Reattach the tape.
10. Reconnect the cable(s).
11. Align and install the right analog stick board in the orientation shown in the illustration below.
12. Lower the right analog stick board to the chassis while lifting the FFC cable from below, then thread the FFC cable through the opening in the middle of the board.
13. Secure the right analog stick board using the screw(s) you removed earlier.
14. Reconnect the cable(s).
15. Install the components you removed in the Before you begin section.
