You may encounter two scenarios for replacing a laptop screen:
1. Your laptop allows you to detach the LCD bezel, the screen, and the cover to replace any of these three components.
2.Your laptop integrates a complete screen module, meaning it consists of the LCD bezel, cover, and screen without the ability to independently disassemble these three elements.

For disassembling and reassembling a screen in three parts, you will need:
- A toolkit with various screwdriver bits (to unscrew the covers on the bezel and the screen on the cover).
- A plastic spatula.
- A screw organizer
For the version with three separate elements, we will use the G502 series (watch the video here). The UX481 series integrates a complete module (watch the video here).
For a complete disassembly of the three screen elements:
Before starting to disassemble the screen, you need to detach it from the top case. For this, you'll need to unclip the various LVDS cables (Low Voltage Differential Signaling cables that provide electrical connection between the screen and the motherboard). In this scenario, you also need to disconnect the coaxial cables of Wi-Fi from the Wi-Fi card clipped onto the motherboard. Once the cables are unplugged, you can unscrew the screws from the two hinges (between 3 and 4 screws per hinge).
Once you've unscrewed the hinges, lift the top case (screen underneath) a quarter of its opening.
Then, gently fold down the top case to release the hinges from their attachment points on the top case (sometimes these attachment points are on the motherboard). Lift the hinges by hand and pull the top case towards you.
Now that you have detached the screen from the top case, you can start by unscrewing the two screws securing the bezel under the two small rubber covers and then unclip it using the plastic spatula.
Using the plastic spatula, find the easiest spot on the bezel to grip, to unclip the plastic tabs attached to the cover. Once the spatula is well inserted between the bezel and the cover, slide the spatula along the bezel to unclip each tab.
This is the most delicate part, as you can break these tabs, and your bezel will gap during reassembly. Be patient, avoid being abrupt during this step.
Once you have removed the screen frame, you can unscrew the eight screws holding the screen on the cover. On some models, there are no fixing screws; the screen is glued to the cover using two long double-sided adhesives. A tab extends from each end; just pull it to detach the screen.
Your screen is now disassembled, and all that's left is to replace it.
For disassembling a complete module, simply follow the screen detachment process from the top case explained earlier.
