Bypass the Microsoft account setup block (create a local account)

Issue Encountered

During the initial setup of a Windows device, it may be impossible to proceed without signing in to a Microsoft account. This can block the installation, especially if there is no internet connection or if you refuse to create a Microsoft account.

Solution: Create a Local User Account

You can bypass this block by creating a local user account using a specific command, without needing a Microsoft account.

🛠️ Steps to Follow

  1. At the Microsoft account sign-in or creation screen, simultaneously press the keys:
    Fn + Shift + F10
→ This will open the command prompt (black window).

  2. In the window that opens, type the following command exactly:

    start ms-cxh:localonly

  3. Press Enter.
  4. An interface will appear allowing you to create a local user account (without a Microsoft account).
  5. Enter the requested information (username, password if desired) then click Next.
  6. Continue setting up the device normally.

ℹ️ Note

This procedure is secure and does not require an internet connection.

You can add a Microsoft account later if needed, from Windows settings.

This method is especially useful in professional contexts or for offline use.
